Paws down, the best cat sitting team in Northern VA (just read our reviews!), including our veteran sitter, Ashley!!

Ashley was born and raised in Arlington, VA. Growing up, she had a menagerie - 5 cats, two dogs, and 4 hamsters over the years! Currently, she has 3 kitties, Precious, Suki, and Sterling. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and hanging out with her friends and her sweet kitties. She says she loves cats, "because they don't just love immediately and/or unconditionally; it might take time for a cat to warm up to you, but as soon as they do, they're yours forever. I think that more often than not, the cat chooses the human and not vice versa. Cats also have so many different personalities that go unappreciated when compared with dogs." She is currently working as an Instructional Assistant for elementary students with autism, but decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team. "I have always had a passion for cats, and I want to spend all my free time with kitties!"

Holly!

Holly was born and raised in rural Minnesota. Growing up, she had several dogs and a great many cats, mostly the descendants of a dignified calico named Momma Kitty! Her current kitty is Josie, who joined her family in 2019. Some favorite pastimes include gardening, writing fiction, reading, traveling, and observing Josie as she eyes birds from the window. Holly says she loves kitties because of their "cattitudes," cozy purrs, and how they prowl around like mini mountain lions! She retired from the Air Force in 2018 and recently moved to Virginia with her spouse, who is still active duty, and their daughters. She is a registered yoga teacher and is working on a novel, along with other smaller writing projects. Holly says she decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "I want to reduce the distress of kitties and their families during times of separation. I know first-hand that it’s no fun to worry or to be the cause of a cat’s distress."

Marielle!

Marielle was born in the Philippines and grew up in Hyattsville, MD. As a kid, she mostly had dogs as pets, but she now has a sweet orange tabby named Killua (Kiwi for short). In her spare time, Marielle enjoys cooking, watching movies, and visiting cat cafés and shelters. She says she has a profound love for cats because hers saved her life in so many ways. "They are so intelligent, full of life and they are also loyal companions," she adds. She is currently a stay at home mom, fully loving on her two kids and her super hunter kitty! Marielle explains, "I actually never thought that cat sitting for work existed! I was so surprised to find the ad online and with no second thoughts, I applied right away. This truly feels like a dream job. Caring for other kitties as I would my own is the best way I can make a difference for other cat parents. I truly believe that as a cat sitter, I can provide assurance that the cats will be loved and cared for immensely."

Leah!

Leah was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Growing up, she had an orange and white kitty named Chibbie, and she now has a male tabby named Bruce! In her spare time, Leah enjoys reading non-fiction, taking long walks, traveling, baking, and watching professional tennis. She decided to make a career change to become a cat sitter for Cat Sitting by Susan, and we are so pleased! She explains that, "The company truly understands the immense love people have for their cats and how important it is to know cats are receiving exceptional care and attention when they are out of town. I also love that this is a business dedicated to cats! Cat Sitting by Susan has taken care of my cat and the sitters are exceptional!" Leah says that she loves kitties because of the endless sweetness and cuteness they add to a home, their independence, how wise they are, and their great capacity to love!

Olivia!

Olivia was born in Alexandria, VA, grew up there, and has had one cat that "has been with me my whole life (which I very much appreciate)". At the moment, she only has the one cat, but would definitely like to have more. In her spare time, she does Zumba on the weekends, and she enjoys going out to the movies, but as she explains, "like most cats, I like to stay inside and relax whenever I can." Olivia says she loves kitties because she feels that she can relate to them the most of any animal, and she feels that they are not always thought of as much as they should be. "Cats are amazing, beautiful creatures who should be appreciated." She is currently working with children as an after-school teacher, and decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "as soon as I saw the words cat sitting, I was hooked. I previously worked as a dog walker, but I didn’t feel very passionate about it. There were times that I was asked to take care of cats and that was the most fulfilling part of the day. A job where I can be around my favorite house pet, and maybe even learn more about what it means to take care of a cat; what more could I ask for?"

Theresa!

Theresa was born and raised in Arlington, VA and still lives in the area. Growing up, she had two chihuahuas named Pikachu and Mickey and a cat named Midnight because he was pure black! She currently has no cats of her own, but always cares for her best friend's kitties when she's out of town. Theresa loves the outdoors when the weather is nice and loves to run, hike, and spend time with family and friends. She says she loves cats "because they are so easy going. Even though they are independent animals they still have a huge personality." She currently works in the healthcare industry and loves helping people and being part of a team that is always striving to do more. Theresa decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan "because helping in any way I can is always a pleasure to me. I want cat owners to feel they can travel and visit family and friends without having to worry about their fur babies."

Caitlynn!

Caitlynn was born in Layton, UT, but grew up in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Her family had, and still has, a cat named Caesar and a dog named Mila. She also has kitties named Petrie and Boseman. In her spare time, she likes to draw, paint, do DIY crafts, and collect houseplants. Caitlynn says she loves cats because "my grandparents always had cats while I was growing up and I loved how unique each of their personalities were and what quirks they had. Cats make wonderful companions once you earn their trust and respect their individual boundaries." She is currently a freelance illustrator working on her portfolio and saving to attend graduate school in the next few years. She joined the Cat Sitting by Susan team because, "I saw this as a great opportunity to specialize in cat care and work with an excellent local business doing great work in the community."

Giuliet!

Giuliet was born and raised in NY and NJ. When she was little, her family had dogs, however later, she lived with her older and younger sisters who both had cats. She currently has two sweet fur babies, Wolf, a domestic short hair mix, and Reese, a torti. In her spare time, she loves reading and writing, playing with her cats ("they make me laugh everyday"), spending time with her siblings and friends, and camping and hiking when she can. Also, "I recently started learning Korean and I find doing the lessons very enjoyable, though I am not conversational yet!" As to why she loves kitties, she explained, "In my eyes there is no purer soul than an animal's. Growing up. I always thought I was more of a dog person, but then after living with cats, it shifted a bit. You have to work for a cat's affection, so it makes it all the more sweeter when they show it to you. I didn’t know just how loving they can be until I lived with a pair. It’s really rewarding to gain a cat's trust." She is currently taking a step down from her career in café management so she can be home more, for her new fur babies and her mother. Giulet decided to join Cat Sitting by Susan because, "I love that the company is cat focused instead of being a mix of dogs and cats. I had looked up Cat Sitting by Susan when I applied and was amazed at how much your clients love working with you. You know a company is doing good things when people love them so much."

Allie!

Allie was born in Morristown, NJ but grew up in Charlotte NC. She had cats growing up as well as 4 dogs and a pony! She currently has 2 cats now that live at her mom's house. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her pets, as well as reading and journaling! She works as a style advisor at Saks Fifth Avenue and decided to work with the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "I have a stressful job and I find that animals have always been very therapeutic for me and being able to be around animals as a job like that is just a win-win!"

Gracie!

Gracie was born and raised in Northern Virginia. She grew up with a wonderful dog and three birds. She says that since she was a child, she has had a deep passion and connection with animals, creating a lifetime love for all. She hopes to have a cat of her own one day, and luckily, she has lived with, and helped care for, many roommates' kitties. Gracie loves to spend time with friends and enjoys watching movies in her free time. She explains that she loves cats because of their unique and wonderful personalities, with the added bonus of how affectionate and cute they are. She is currently working towards obtaining a bachelor's degree in Psychology. Gracie decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because of her love for cats, and this is a great way to spend more time with them.

Lilly!

Lilly was born in Fayetteville, AR and raised in Bentonville, AR. She grew up with many cats, the most at once being 8! She currently has 4 kitties, Simon, Fitz, Heiny, and Hermann. In her spare time, she loves cooking, baking, doing mosaics, and spending time with her fur babies. She loves cats because "I love how curious and interesting cats are! I could spend all day watching and playing with them. They are never a bore and never fail to make me smile." Lilly recently moved to the area and she is working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems. She decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because, as she put it, "I have always been one to surround myself with cats. I spent many of my teen years fostering and helping out with my parents’ local cat rescue. I’m passionate about cats and being able to work with them in any way is so rewarding."

Abonesh!

Abonesh was born in DC and grew up in Alexandria, VA. She had two sweet cats named Snowflake and Bailey. She currently has an affectionate shorthaired tabby named Nala, who she adores! In her spare time, she loves reading, editing videos, watching movies with Nala, and spending quality time with her family and close friends. She says she "adores cats because they give comfort and compassion in ways that no one else can, like purring and cuddling in your lap. Since cats choose who they want to open up to, I feel a sense of connection and bond with cats." Abonesh is a full-time student at American University working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience." She explains that she decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team "because of the company's dedication to providing the best care for cats. Since I have a cat of my own who is my whole world, I know that I would be able to provide love and care for anyone's cat. When I saw the ad for the job I knew I had to apply because caring for other's cats wouldn't feel like work for me, it's something I truly enjoy."

Ella!

Ella was born in Reston, VA and grew up in Great Falls and McLean! She grew up with two tuxedo cats, Sadie and Splash. She now has a sweet kittie named Sadie. Some of her favorite things to do are drawing and art, enjoying the outdoors, and hanging out with friends! She loves cats "because, as independent as they are, they are still affectionate and it means so much to have a cat choose to show their love to you. I'm especially in love with how calming a cat's purr is." Currently, Ella is a nursing student at Utah Valley University! She says she decided to work for Cat Sitting by Susan because "I do genuinely love cats and spending time with them and knew that I would love working more with them! I know how important it is for people that their pets are safe, and I could never turn down the opportunity to make sure they are taken well care of."

Ellie!

Ellie was born in Alexandria, VA, but moved to McLean when she was 8 years old. She had eight cats growing up as well as two goldfish and two parakeets. She now has three cats, Thomas, who is 18 and still going strong, and two siblings, Cinnamon and Bailey. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, playing guitar, writing poems, and gaming with her cats next to her! She also loves learning Japanese (she studied it all throughout high school)! Ellie says she loves cats because "they are independent, full of personality, and like people, it takes time to earn their trust. But once you do, they are some of the most loving and sweet companions out there! And of course, they're also extremely cute." Currently, she is studying environmental science at The Ohio State University, and volunteers taking care of the rescue turtles, frogs, and snakes at her local park. Eliie explains that she decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team "because I love working with and getting to know all kinds of cats. I also know how worrisome it can be to leave cats for prolonged periods of time, and I want to provide reassurance to other cat parents that their kitties are safe and still getting love while they're away!"

Nicole!

Nicole was born in New Jersey, but grew up in New York. She went to college in Pennsylvania, and moved to the DC area when she graduated. Growing up, her first pet was a Siamese kitty named Cocoa. Since then, there have been many kitties: Pecan, Mustard, Cecelia, Sydney, and, as Nicole puts it, her soulmate kitty Simon, who lived an amazing 20 years! After Simon passed, her family welcomed two Siamese littermates, crazy “meezers” as she calls them, Max and Monty, who keep their household interesting! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, including the "meezer" kitties. She likes to run, cycle, attempts to play tennis, and keeps up with current events. Nicole also loves international travel and exploring different cultures. Her career has been in marketing and business development and she is currently consulting for some local companies. She says she decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "their sitters have taken great care of my boys when we've been away. I want to offer the same comfort to others who are looking for the best care for their fur babies when they are out of town."

Kiara!

Kiara was born in Pembroke Pines, FL, but grew up in North Miami. Growing up, she had cats, dogs, turtles, fish, birds, rabbits, and guinea pigs -- quite the minagerie! Currently, she has two sweet kitties, Mikko and Mushu. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, going to the gym, completing puzzles, gardening, and learning new skills and languages. Kiara says she loves cats "because they are very particular creatures. In spite of their nonchalant behavior, they are beautiful, intelligent and purrrfect additions to my life!" She is working as a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician. She decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "I love that Cat Sitting by Susan is a local, a family-owned business, and cat specific! Being operated by people who love cats and enjoy caring for them, provides relief and gives comfort to families. I am grateful to be a part of this team!"

Anna!

Anna was born in Woodbridge, VA and raised in Marshall, VA. Growing up, she had multiple cats and dogs. Currently, she has two cats, Wally and Tobey, and a hedgehog named Tucker! In her spare time, she enjoys playing piano and trying new restaurants. Anna explains that she loves kitties because "I love cats. I love discovering every cat’s personality. Plus, they’re really cute!" She is working as a paralegal, and decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because, as she says, "I’ve been a cat sitter for years and have been looking for ways to do it more frequently. When I heard about Cat Sitting By Susan, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to spend more time with my favorite animal!"

Annie!

Annie was born in New York City, NY and grew up in north Arlington, VA. Growing up, she first had two cats, Cinders (all Grey as the name suggests) and Chessie, a beautiful tabby, named after the cat on the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad cars. She currently has no kitties, but she used to have three male cats, Boonie, Sammy, and Lucky Harry Houdini. They were all very affectionate and sweet. I spent so much time with one or the other on my lap and another next to me on the bed. Sometimes, all three were there at the same time! Contentment! In her spare time, Annie likes taking long walks on crisp fall days, cuddling cats, and taking care of horses. She enjoys reading mysteries and legal thrillers. She explains that she loves cats because they are independent yet loving. They decide who they like and when they want attention from, so when they do want attention, they give themselves unconditionally. Annie decided to work for Cat Sitting by Susan because she loves cats and loves taking care of them when their parents are away due to work or vacation. She says, "All one needs to do is read reviews of the services Cat Sitting by Susan provides to cat parents to understand why I chose to work with them over other cat sitters."

Eva!

Eva was born and raised in Alexandria, VA. Sadly, her family cat, Cleo, passed away a little over a year ago. She adopted her current kitty, Kiwi, almost two years ago and "she hasn’t left my lap since!" She enjoys studying at the park, caring for plants, and doing crafty things, like crochet, in her spare time. Eva says she loves cats because "I love how different each cat is, some are more outgoing than others. Some need a little more time, and I totally get that." She is currently finishing her last year at VCU as a science major and she is hoping to be working with plants in the future. She decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because, as she explains, "I’ve only heard great things about you from my sister, and I love cats!" Forgot to mention (!), her sister is Olivia, another of our great sitters!

Kylie!

Kylie was born in Arlington and grew up in Falls Church. She says she always had at least one cat while growing up. She currently has four cats. In her spare time, she loves to read, go on hikes, play any sport, and just spend time with her pets. Kylie explains that she love cats "because I grew up around them and have always found so much comfort in their presence. Even when they don’t want to be social, just watching them do their own thing is always so entertaining and calming." She is a student at Franklin and Marshall College and is home for summer. She decided to work for Cat Sitting by Susan "because I genuinely think there is no better job than hanging out with cats and I want nothing more than to collaborate with a group of like minded cat lovers. I also know that I would feel much more comfortable having my cats taken care of by a like minded cat lover and would like to provide that assurance for other people."

Haley!

Haley was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She currently has no cats, but loves caring for them for friends and family. Her favorite things to do are watching movies, making new recipes in the kitchen, and spending time with her boyfriend, friends, and family. Haley says she loves kitties because she enjoys getting to play with them and pet them, and especially loves when she wins their trust enough for them to be comfortable curling up on your lap for some love. She is currently working as a paralegal, and she decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "I wanted to be able to give excellent care to cats and give the cat owners peace of mind to know their babies are well cared for."

Caleb!

Caleb was born in Arlington, VA, but grew up overseas in China, Cameroon, Finland, and Israel before moving back to the states for high school in 2009. Growing up, he says that he had multiple fish and dogs! Unfortunately, he does not have any kitties at this time. In his spare time, his favorite things are hiking along the amazing trails available on the Potomac, cooking new recipes with his girlfriend, playing basketball and soccer with friends, and reading. Caleb says he loves cats "because of their energy and inquisitive nature. I love when a cat can eventually warm up to you and become a companion." He is currently working and earning certifications. He says he decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team "because of how dedicated, caring, and passionate Gregg and Susan are when it comes to taking care of cats, as well as their staff, as well as the excellent reputation it has developed in the community."

Jean!

Jean was born in Milwaukee, WI and grew up in Brookfield, WI. She had cats, rabbits, turtles, fish, and a dog. She currently has four kitties! She says that her favorite thing to do is take care of her cats. Jean says she loves cats because "they are so interesting to me to watch and care for. I love their different personalities and behaviors." She decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team, she explains "When I did research for job opportunities in northern Virginia, I found the business model and website awesome, and I was very impressed with the detail and transparency of their services."

Brianna!

Brianna was born and raised in Minnesota. Growing up, she had many different pets ranging from cats and dogs to fish and rabbits, but she mainly had cats. She currently has a sweet kitty named Totoro (Toto for short) who is a beautiful, grey Nebelung. In her free time, Brianna loves going for walks, bike riding, reading, and swimming. "I love cats because I have always been able to form a strong bond with them. They all have very different personalities and quirks just like us. Even though they can be very independent at times, they are always very loving and caring of their family. They have always brought me so much joy in my life and I think they are one of the best things in this world." She is currently an Independent Licensed Massage Therapist, but decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team "because they are very unique when it comes to animal sitting around the DMV. I have always wanted to work a job revolving around just cats and I didn't think anything like that existed, until I found this company. Susan is very welcoming and friendly, and after reading their business model and seeing how everyone loves them, I knew I wanted to be part of the team. They give a great service to the community and I really want to be apart of that!"

Jenny!

Jenny was born in Arlington, VA (as was Theresa -- they're twin sisters!). She grew up here and describes herself as "a true Arlingtonian." She had one all black cat named Midnight and two Chihuahua dogs, Mickey and Pikachu. She doesn't have any cats at the moment. Her favorite things to do are cooking and baking in her spare time. Jenny says she loves cats because "they are very unique creatures. They definitely have a special way to show their affection for you and when they love, they love hard. I have taken care of several cats and have never run into a cat that I did not grow a bond a with." She is currently a house manager for a private residence. She explains why she decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team, "I originally was referred by my sister, Theresa, who suggested I reach out since I have experience working with animals. I love all sorts of animals! I have over 15 years of experience! My motto is always make sure my clients are always updated on the status of their fur babies to keep them at ease while on vacation or a work trip."

Jade!

Jade was born in Killeen, TX and grew up all over Texas. The family only had dogs due to family cat allergies. But Jade says, "I loved going to my Grandmother’s house and playing with her cats. I love cats’ individual personalities, unique behavior, and when they warm up to you, their playful antics." In her spare time, she loves being outside, doing any art activities, and reading with a cup of chai. She is currently taking online classes at JMU, and wanted a job where she could help people. Jade joined the Cat Sitting by Susan team because, "I wanted to work for this company because I wanted to help people and animals in the local community. I love to be working with cats and to be apart of something bigger."

Peter!

Peter was born in Alexandria and grew up in Fairfax and Falls Church. In 7th grade, the family got two kitties, Boots and Mittens, who are still with Peter today! In his free time, he likes playing video games, dabbling in music creation, and hanging out with friends. He explains that he loves cats because "they are both independent and social creatures, and these complex emotions give them so much personality. Once you gain a cat's respect, which is immensely gratifying, you'll have a loving companion that will always be there for you. The bond between human and cat is beautiful and irreplaceable, and experiencing this bond firsthand has given me a great appreciation for our feline friends." Peter is currently a student at William & Mary studying Computer Science. He is home for summer and has decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "my two cats are my favorite living beings in the whole wide world, and I understand how stressful it can be to leave them behind. I want to help other people feel at ease when separated from their furry friends, and this is a perfect way to do just that!"

Madison!

Madison was born in Alexandria, but she considers Arlington her hometown. She grew up surrounded by animals, including cats, dogs, a parrot, and a chinchilla! Currently, she has two Tonkinese cats named Bunny and Cassie. Madison loves cats for their wonderful personalities. Also, "cats are loving in their own unique way, and like people, it’s just a matter of figuring out how to best connect with them. I believe cats can be some of the best companions anyone can have." She is studying Animal and Poultry Sciences at Virginia Tech and hopes to go to veterinary school in the future. In her spare time, she enjoys studying Japanese, reading, and practicing ballroom dancing. Madison decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "I think the best cat care is performed by individuals who know how to connect with cats. In many ways, this means the daily aspects of cat care, but also extends to forming a relationship with kitty and client. Knowing how to connect with cats and being able to form a relationship with them means you can learn how to best attend to their needs. I was excited to hear that CSBS shares this view as well! I think all kitties deserve the best care they could receive."

Ruby!

Ruby was born and raised in Chantilly. She got her first cat, a female rag doll, 3 years ago and then another female rag doll 2 years ago. For fun, she likes to travel, read, go to the gym, and hang out with friends. Ruby says she loves kitties "as every cat has a different personality no matter the breed and they make great companions." She decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "I love animals and I want to provide the same level of attention and care I give my own cats."

Nick!

Nicolas was born in Arlington and was raised in Falls Church. Growing up, the family had a fun loving, adventurous, large orange male kitty named Snuffles, and a goofball German Sheppard mutt mix named Yogi. He doesn't have any kitties currently, but he says "I am often playing with, and cat sitting for, the cats of my friends and family." In his free time, he likes to travel, exercise, and cook. Nicolas says he's learning how to golf now, which is exciting and rewarding. He loves cats because of their vibrant personalities, and says "regardless of their extroverted or introverted characteristics cats have distinct personalities and ranges of emotions which makes them so relatable and loveable. It also doesn't hurt that they are some of the most adorable animals to ever grace us with their presence." He is earning a wine diploma from the Wine and Spirit Education Trust. He is currently studying for his exam. Nicolas says, "I would like to work for Cat Sitting by Susan because I want to provide cats and their owners an elevated level of care and peace of mind indicative of Cat Sitting by Susan. I believe every loving cat owner should be at ease in their pet's care so they may focus on their task at hand and more comfortably live in the moment."

Ben!

Ben was born in Lansing, Michigan and raised in Bristow, VA. Growing up, he had three cats, a white Himalayan named Kobe, a Calico named CeeCee, and a Gray tabby named Blink. Blink is still around, living with his parents. Nowadays, he has a sweet and lovable tortie named Ella. In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, reading, and listening to music. Ben says he loves kitties because, "I love how independent they can be while still being affectionate and fun members of the family!" He is currently a choir section leader and cantor at a church in McLean, as well as an opera singer. He decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because, as he puts it, "I love earning the trust of cats and discovering their personalities! Each cat is different, so it's always interesting to learn about them. I can tell everyone at Cat Sitting by Susan knows what they are doing and truly loves cats as well. And as someone with a varied schedule that doesn't mesh with a normal 9-5, the flexibility is a great plus."

Ranock!

Ranock was born in Cambodia and raised in Elgin, IL. She had kitties while growing up and she currently has two, Dora and Humphrey. In her free time, she enjoys photography, exercising, and cooking. Ranock says she loves cats because "I love their warmth and love!" She works full time in IT, but decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because she loves cats and wants to care for them.

Rob!

Rob was born in McLean and raised in Falls Church. He grew up with two grey tabbies, and now has three sweet girls, Kitty, Suzy, and Tabitha. In his free time, he plays guitar and drums (in bands!), but also enjoys tennis and watching movies with his kitties! He says "I love cats not only because they are all incredibly cute in their own way, but because they help me with stress, anxiety, and whenever I have trouble sleeping. They are always there for me. Plus, I find it extremely rewarding when I gain a kitty’s trust and affection. I love how each one has their own unique personality and ways they show their affection to me." He is currently working on finishing an album that one of his bands has been working on for the past year, as well as performing in DC and the Richmond, VA area. Rob decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team "because I could tell as soon as I entered the office for the first time, how much she cares/loves cats, as well as having only the best and most sincere cat lovers/sitters that she can trust with the amazingly impressive amount of clients she has! Carolina!

Carolina was born in Santiago, Chile and has lived in Falls Church since 1996. She currently has two kitties, Broly and Lana, and a dog named Zeke. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and close friends. When asked why she loves cats, she said "Who doesn’t?! They are beautiful animals. Everything about cats fascinates me like their eyes, powerful bodies, super vision, speed and of course their meows!" Carolina has been working in the dental field as a dental assistant and patient coordinator since 2012. She is also attending NOVA taking continuing education classes. She decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team and says, "I am excited to work for this company because of the excellent customer service and quality care that is given to each client. There is nothing like a peace of mind when it comes to caring for your pets when you are away from home."

Reem!

Reem was born in Jordan and grew up in Fairfax. She currently has two sweet female kitties. In her free time, she enjoys boxing, going on walks, hanging out with friends, and cuddling with her cats. She explains that she loves cats "because they bring joy and peace into my heart, and they give me the unconditional love and emotional support that I need amidst the stress and challenges I encounter in my day-to-day life." Reem works for an international non-profit organization on development initiatives and humanitarian assistance projects in the Middle East region. She says "my passion is to serve vulnerable populations in third world countries." She made the decision to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team "because I want to make valuable use of my time doing something I enjoy. As a cat owner, I am aware of the need to take care of cats especially during travel, so I am keen to be part of the team to contribute to such great initiative of providing the support and care that cats need."

Yumiko!

Yumiko was born and raised in San Diego, CA. Growing up, she had lots of fish, a dog, a cat, a tortoise, and a bearded dragon. She now has a sweet old kitty named Tito, who has been around since he was a little kitten ten years ago. In her free time, she loves to draw, write, and read. She says her favorite book series is, unsurprisingly, Warrior Cats. She says she is currently "finding my way in life, and who I’m meant to be." Yumiko loves kitties because "of all the animals in the world, cats match me the most. They are so easy to understand, they’re smart, and all have such distinctive personalities! Plus, they don’t bark! I’ve just always gotten along with every cat I met." She's now on the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "I’ve wanted to work with animals since I was little. It’s just never been in the cards until now - and honestly, waiting has been worth it if I get to work with my favorite animal!"

Kevin!

Kevin was born and raised in Frederick, MD. He has a "super energetic" Bengal girl named Lilly. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as running, climbing, soccer, snowboarding, archery, woodworking, and anything else that gets him outside. When asked why he loves cats, Kevin said, "While I never had cats growing up, I always loved being at friends' houses who had cats. One of my favorite things about cats is when they start to purr when petting them or giving them scratches -- The louder the better! I love knowing they are having a good time and enjoying having me around. I like that they are simultaneously both a cute ball of fur and muscular hunters." Currently, he is working on trying to grow a small hobby woodshop into a small personal business. "I’m currently learning the ins and outs of the business side of things including how to be a salesperson and effectively market on social media." He decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because "I feel the guilt and worry of leaving my own kitty home when traveling or vacationing and I know that traveling is stressful for both families and their cats. I want to ensure that cat guardians have the peace of mind while traveling that their cats and kittens are not only well taken care of, but get enrichment while they are away. I hope to bring the level of care I would want for my own cat to other families who need to be away from home."

Trey!

Trey was born and raised in Fairfax. He has had many pets over the years, 7 dogs (Ramona, Bailey, Panda, Chestnut, Zeus, Marley, and Moose), 4 cats (Leila, Bob, Alex, and MiuMiu), 2 rabbits, and 2 guinea pigs, a few turtles, frogs, and other reptiles and lastly a bunch of fish! He just lost his sweet kitty, Alex, this past month, but he says "thankfully we have MiuMiu at home keeping spirits high." In his free time, Trey loves hiking, fishing, and the outdoors. He is working part time at a local farmers market in Arlington, and decided to join the Cat Sitting by Susan team because, "I want to interact with more cats, as it has been hard losing a long time friend."
