Excellent company and cat sitting service! Their office was easy to find and the key drop off process was super simple. Brianna cared for my cat and I can’t recommend her enough! I’ve always felt stressed and worried about my cat on previous vacations, but this time was completely different. Brianna provided plenty of videos, photos, and details about each visit. It’s clear that she cares a lot for each cat she visits. She even did some light cleaning so that I wouldn’t come home to a floor full of litter! So grateful to have finally found a company/person I can trust :)

I cannot recommend Cat Sitting By Susan enough! We have used their services for a long time now and can’t imagine ever using anyone else. Our cat can be very timid but when the sitters come over we can tell by the daily videos they send us how much she loves them. They are great with communicating and updating us as well as cleaning up the occasional mess our cat makes on our white carpets! We always come home to a very happy kitty ♥️

We used Cat Sitting by Susan this holiday season and they did an incredible job taking care of our cat while we were out! We got daily updates with pictures and videos from our cat sitter (Miracle) and she was extremely responsive with all questions and concerns. It's clear that the whole staff really cares about animals and wants to make sure they feel cared for while their owners are away. We'll definitely be using them again the next time we travel!

Cat Sitting by Susan is excellent. They're reliable, do a great job with our cat, and are communicative and on top of things. Our sitter Ashley's daily texts and emails with pictures and videos of our cat are wonderful while we're away, and you can tell the sitters know how to handle cats (playtime, scratches, brushing, etc). I cannot understate what incredible service Cat Sitting by Susan provided. We spent 2 weeks out of the country and it was so stress-free knowing how well Anna cared for our cats. We received updates every single day, including pictures and videos. It was so evident from these updates that our cats were doing well - Anna really got to know them and described their personalities and actions so well. We stayed up late every day (six hour time difference) just to receive our email update. They are so professional and thorough - litter boxes perfectly cleaned, food dishes cleaned, in-depth understanding of food/water needs. I was so impressed from our first kick-off call until the last message we received before coming home. If you're hesitating using this service, DON'T! I am normally so anxious when we travel with concerns about our cats. They loved Anna, they were not at all weird or anxious when we got home, and I can't wait for the next trip where we work with Cat Sitting by Susan again.

This is my second time using Susan's Cat Sitting service and I could not be happier! Annie took care of my boys and she did such a fantastic job. She left the place better than she found it (she cleaned around the cats' food area) and made sure to play with them a lot. I really liked that she took the time to play and spend with the boys, because that was huge for me. Annie made it so that I could actually relax and enjoy my vacation, knowing that my two babies were taken care of! She also had fantastic communication with me via text and email. I'm not sure what else I can say other than that I would be hesitant to use any other cat sitter beside her! As cat people, its fantastic when other cat people watch your kitties because we know they are in good hands. Annie is an angel, and 1,000/10 would recommend! Thank you so much Annie, you are amazing!!

I would definitely recommend Cat Sitting by Susan.  We went away for five days, and Alexis dependably sent us videos and pictures of our cats with a detailed description of what happened during her visit.  I don't like having to leave our cats behind when we go away, so these updates were very reassuring.  Cat Sitting by Susan is professionally run, and communicating with the team is very easy.  I plan to use their service again the next time we go away and have to leave our kitties.

Theresa did a wonderful job watching our 7-year-old furball! She even managed to clean out the litter box each day for a week without making the usual mess I make when cleaning it, since it's in a really tight space. I really like these folks too since it's their policy to send you pics and vids of your cat every day. It was very reassuring since we've never hired a sitter before. I hired Cat Sitting by Susan to watch over 4 cats (my 3 and a visitor) for a week during early March 2023.  Since the 17-year old house guest cat required medicine twice day, I could not rely on a neighborhood kid.  I needed reliability and experience.  Their pre-sign up questions were thorough.  They did not come to my house physically in advance; however, we walked around with video.  It all worked out great.  Olivia's text and email updates were very detailed and would put any owner at ease.  My mother was very impressed too.  I think my litter boxes have never been this clean! (a new aspiration).  This was more than I usually pay, but very worth it for the service I required.  (Also, if you drop off your key to them in person, have a meal or a beverage at the beer / wine store!)

We just returned home from traveling and in the meantime left our cat, Squeaks, in the care of Cat-sitting by Susan. We were extremely pleased with the level of care that was provided. This is an extremely professional, well-organized operation, and I am very happy I found them in the area. In advance of our trip, Susan conducted a meet-and-greet with Beatrice (our awesome assigned cat sitter) through a video call. They were able to meet Squeaks then too. During our trip, I received videos and reports about how everything was going, each time Beatrice visited. She was absolutely amazing, and Squeaks totally loved her! This is my 3rd time with Cat Sitting by Susan, and the first for a week. My sitter, Miracle, sat for my two tuxies one before, and did a wonderful job. I received twice daily updates while I was gone, accompanied by photos and videos. Miracle paid close attentiion to feeding, cleaning cat boxes, and entertaining the kitty boys. They were in fine, relaxed, and happy shape when I got home. Some more trips are coming up, and I know who I'm going to turn to!

Our whole experience with Cat Sitting by Susan was very positive from beginning to end. I highly recommend them!

During the initial 3-way video call I was able to meet Susan and her husband, Gregg, as well as our cat sitter, Dan. They were able to “meet” our two cats and we went over the instructions for their care. Susan’s team asked all the right questions and it was clear that they were taking careful notes.

Payment instructions were simple and easy.

Dan was very responsive and adapted to the needs of our cats. He enjoyed playing with our “greeter” cat who always met him at the door and, over the course of the week during his twice daily visits, he was able to get our nervous cat to warm up with his calm reassuring demeanor and he was rewarded with snuggles.

We loved the communication after each visit including pictures and videos and a description of the visit! Our kitties are young and have lots of energy so we were happy knowing that they were getting plenty of attention and play so that they wouldn’t be bored and take out their frustration on the furniture or each other!

Dan kept the litter boxes clean and tidy and even went above and beyond to completely reset one of the litter boxes that was being heavily used.

He took excellent care of our two kitties (food / water / play / litter). It was our first time leaving them and we felt peace of mind knowing that they were in caring and competent hands.

We love that this is a women-owned business and that they focus exclusively on cat sitting so they really understand and know how to respond to different cats and their individual needs. All of the sitters are cat lovers and cat owners themselves so they really know how to give the cats the attention or space that they need.

I can't recommend them enough! Great experience with this service!  There was a very thorough intake process prior to the first visit to get to know your cat.  The cat sitter sent at least two videos every visit, plus photos and a summary of each visit.  I felt very relaxed and confident that my cat was being very well taken care of.  I also found the rates to be very reasonable.  All in all,  I would highly recommend!

I am so happy that I took a chance to check if they had any openings, even though it was last minute. I was nervous to use a business that was not personally referred to me (I am new to the area), but Susan was in touch with me regularly by text and email, answering my questions and letting me know which employee was coming to my home. While I was gone, I got regular updates (texts and emails with pictures and videos) so I could see how everything was going and was reassured that these are clearly cat lovers. Cat Sitting by Susan is a lifesaver! I used Rover when I lived in Arlington, but after I moved to Falls Church, availability was much sparser. I am so glad I found a local company that focuses on cats rather than dogs. Ashley has looked after my two kitties twice now, and I've been so happy both times. Ashley obviously knows how to treat shy kitties, so that they actually warmed up to her after a couple visits. I feel totally confident that she understands cats. Cat Sitting by Susan is reliable, professional, and experts at what they do. I feel safe and secure giving them a key to my house, too.

Susan and her team, specifically Erin, do such a wonderful job looking after kitties. This was our first time away from our 2 fur balls since November, which was, of course, extremely nerve racking. I went looking for a cat sitter online and came across Cat Sitting By Susan and decided to check them out for two trips I had coming. I checked their website and was impressed that they had a focus on cats - something that I wanted - and they also shared bios of all of their sitters, with their background check paperwork included! The process was great - with a video call to meet the owner, and the potential sitter, before getting the final schedule nailed down. Payment was easy, and each visit I got a great set of pictures as well as video. It was very evident to me that the sitter - Rachel in my case - took time to be with the cats and socialize with them. A perfect situation for me. I highly recommend their services!!

Cat Sitting by Susan is wonderful. Their customer portal is easy to use, and the cat sitters have been great.  As a customer, I can tell that these employees really do love working with cats.  You will receive daily photo and video updates, along with a written narrative of how the visit went. I have full confidence that my pets are well cared for when I am away. This is a much less stressful experience for my animals than a kennel, and I am so thankful to have found this small, locally owned company.

I had a bit of a last minute request due to a sitting arrangement that cancelled.  Cat Sitting by Susan responded quickly to my request and had a sitter confirmed within 2 hours! The service was superior to any sitting service that I've used in the past. Not only did our sitter feed my kitties, clean the litter box and clean up around the litter box, she also fed the feral kitties that live near my backyard (I'm working on TNR for them).  In addition, the sitter was concerned about my "shy" kitty, so I finally told her two most likely hiding places. My shy kitty accepted a hand delivered dinner of wet food outside of her hiding spot.  :-)  I can't thank Cat Sitting by Susan and Monica, my sitter enough for care and attention given to my pets.  We especially enjoyed all the updates, pictures, and videos!  Thank you so much!!

We had been using a different pet sitter for the past 10 years, but they unfortunately went out of business due to covid-19 challenges (i.e. nobody traveled or needed dog walkers, because everyone was at home), which left us scrambling for new coverage when we finally felt able to head to the beach for a week this year. We landed on Cat Sitting by Susan and I couldn't be happier. Susan was lovely with the virtual meet and greet, asking all the right questions. The sitter who came every day while we were gone was great with our cat and sent us thorough updates daily, with lots of great photos and videos (and responded to our occasional comments, for example about which toys might engage our grumpy oldman cat more). Once we got set up with Susan we also got access to a nice, easy-to-use online portal and we've already used it to book services for a long weekend this fall.

Just used this service for the first time after adopting our kitty in May. We were beyond thrilled with the service! Brooke came twice a day to feed her, play with her, and clean her litter box. We got a great message and several videos and stills showing us how she was interacting. It was always more or less around the same time of day for the five days we were away. A friend we were with said she wished her son's day care was anywhere close to that communicative. My son's asked every day to see the messages, and we all felt so relieved to know our kitty was so we'll taken care of in our absence. We highly recommend Cat Sitting by Susan!

We typically leave our cats home alone with automated cat feeders, etc., and we were happily surprised with this affordable cat caring service.  Our cats appeared much calmer when we returned home (plus didn't run out of food, water, or kitty litter) and we didn't get our usual piles of revenge vomit.  Furthermore, our sitter played a lot with our kitties--something we mean to do but often forget--which our kitties loved and won't let us skip anymore; one kitty dragged a fishing rod toy over to me as I was writing this review.  Overall, vacationing was less stressful for both us and the cats, with lots and easy communication, and we will certainly use this service again.

These people LOVE cats! I took a last minute trip over spring break and despite being super busy, Susan was able to accommodate me into their schedule. They did a 30 minute zoom prior to my departure which was very reassuring, they asked all sorts of questions to ensure they knew exactly what my kittens needed. Melissa took care of my wee ones and sent pictures and videos every single visit. I had her come in twice a day as my cats are very young and I felt completely reassured that they were in good hands. Seeing the pictures each day was comforting and I could also tell that my cats were very happy and being played with. It is also nice knowing someone is going into the house a couple of times a day. I think their prices are extremely reasonable and their services are fantastic. I will not hesitate to use Cat Sitting by Susan for my future travels!

A great choice if you are going away and need someone to take care of your kitties! I went on a trip to Florida for about 5 days and Melissa took great care of my cats! :D She sent me pictures and videos every day and sent me a detailed text of what she did and how the kitties were. We have used Cat Sitting By Susan twice. Both times we had the same person - Chris - coming to our house twice a day. The first time, he looked after our cat Walter so well that we changed our Christmas plans because we felt comfortable leaving Walter in Chris’ care. He kept us up to date with videos and pictures after each visit and let us know if Walter didn’t eat well or was running out of litter. We’re pretty sure Walter prefers Chris to us now, so we will certainly ask for Chris the next time we travel. I’m sure the whole team is that caring though. All in all, we are very happy with the professionalism and care that Susan and team put in to the job.

Erin and Susan were wonderful. They set up a video call before the scheduled sitting to go over details and were very thorough. One of my cats became very grumpy and unfriendly during first couple visits but Erin did a great job of getting him to warm up. The other cat was skittish and Erin tried her best to check on him without causing him extra anxiety.

She sent us pictures and videos every day to let us know how the kitties were doing.

We appreciate Cat Sitting by Susan and would definitely use them again. They clearly have people working for them who adore cats as much as my husband and I do.

Dan has taken excellent care of our cats, who are wonderful, but also difficult and picky.  We never have to worry when we travel because we know he will look out for them, feed them, play with them, and patiently report out on their behavior.  We would happily recommend Cat Sitting by Susan to friends in Arlington who need cat care when traveling.

I've used Cat sitting by Susan for a few years and have been thrilled with the service. Susan runs an amazing business and hires the best sitters. And, they are taking all the necessary precautions to keep everyone save during Covid.

Another wonderful benefit of Susan's service is if for some reason the assigned pet sitter is unable to make a visit (illness, family emergency, dead car) Susan and her husband Gregg are ready to cover for them.  In the past, I would line up a backup sitter just in case.  Now, I don't need to worry about that.

I love that all the pet sitters send photos, videos and notes from EVERY visit! What a relief it is to get updates and see how happy and playful your fur babies are! It's hard to get one of my cats to eat and via our twice daily visit notes the sitters have kept me informed of how that is going and I've been able to tweak what they do as necessary to make sure he eats enough. They all also do an amazing job of keeping everything very clean and tidy.

Susan tries to assign you the same sitter for all of your visits which is great.  However, the sitters, who are often college students, do eventually graduate and leave the area/service. So, I've had a few different sitters.  They've all been wonderful.  But, my most recent sitter, Rachel, is truly amazing!  My cats are skittish so it takes a while for them to warm up to a sitter.  But not with Rachel. During the first visit they were acting like they were old pals!  And, by the end of the two week visit, both of my cats were sitting in Rachel's lap.  They have NEVER done that with anyone but me!!!!  She took really amazing photos and videos. What a joy it was to see those every day. Below is a screen print of a text showing a video and one of the photos Rachel sent me on her FIRST day.  The cat with the brush often won't come out from under the bed for the first two days of a new sitter!

My wife and I will never think of looking for a different cat sitting company after having the opportunity to work with Cat Sitting by Susan!!!

Initially, we were quite nervous about traveling internationally for our anniversary.  Earlier this year, we adopted an orphaned baby kitten in hopes that she would eventually become a friend for our older cat who suffers from depression & separation anxiety when we travel.

We've never worked with professionals before and aside from their stellar yelp reviews had no idea what to expect when we came back home.  All we knew was that we didn't feel comfortable asking our friends to take on this responsibility because they don't own cats themselves.

From the initial registration (incredibly straightforward) to the meet and greet (COVID safe) and daily check ins, Susan, her husband and our sitter blew us away with their professionalism, expertise and genuine care for our animals' well being.

One of the main highlights of our vacation was sitting down in the afternoon to look through the various pictures and videos that our sitter sent along with a brief summary of their stay.

Thank you so much for eliminating this stressor from our vacation and taking such great care of Binx and Ostara!

 Very professional service. We have cat with special medication needs, this group has been very responsive and very helpful and allowing us to be able to go to work and occasionally out of town. They took the time to ensure the correct sitters were paired with our quirky cats and the kitties are very responsive to them. Extremely trustworthy, always reliable always do a great job. Makes me so much more comfortable when I'm not at home. We'll use them again and again.

I can't say enough good things about Cat Sitting by Susan. We have used them twice, first with Leah and then with Rachel, caring for our two cats. Both times these caring sitters went above and beyond anything we have experienced before. It's evident that owners Susan and her husband are true cat lovers and employ people who are too. From the start, with a thorough "meet and greet" when Susan took copious notes about our cats' particularities and routines, we could tell this was a special service. And both times during our trips, our sitters checked in twice daily to text updates and send photos and videos. Our cats, one of whom is very shy and wary of strangers, were so clearly content and even having fun with new toys and games! Also, wonderful was the cats' feeding area and litter was very clean and tidy. So nice to come home from a trip to happy cats who have obviously been lovingly cared for. We will without a doubt use Cat Sitting by Susan again and highly recommend them for anyone searching for cat sitting services.

Would give more than 5 stars, if possible!

Cat Sitting by Susan was recommended to me from a fellow military spouse. I looked up their website & I really appreciated that they have their prices listed on the internet. Plus they have pictures & cute bios of all the sitters (along with their background check!). This made me feel really comfortable using their service.

I used Cat Sitting by Susan over Labor Day weekend. Prior to my departure Susan made sure they knew all about the cats & asked all the right questions to make sure they were prepared to care for the cats.

Erin was the sitter & I feel as though she took such great care of our cats! I got the sweetest pictures and videos of them while I was away. Also, she followed the directions perfectly. I was just very impressed with Erin & the Cat Sitting service as a whole.

We recently had Cat Sitting by Susan care for our 2 kitties for 2 weeks while we were on vacation. I can't say enough great things about them! We had a very poor experience with another company in the area about a year ago. Needless to say we were very hesitant about leaving our fur babies for such a long time. Susan and her team made us feel very comfortable from the beginning. They sent us several videos and pictures after every visit along with a detailed account of their visit! One of our kitties is very shy but they still always tried to find and engage him. We were able to enjoy our trip without worrying! We will definitely being using them again in the future!

Amazing cat sitting company!! Sabrina was so sweet with our girl and gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. I highly recommend Cat Sitting by Susan to all cat families. This is an amazingly organized, locally owned company. Susan responded to my inquiry on the same day. The meet & greet was done over a video call due to the pandemic, but it was very heartwarming. Susan and Greg walked through the entire routine, asked about likes and dislikes of our kitty. Kristina took care of our Gatsby during our absence. It was the first time for us away from him for an extended period of time and I was anxious. Kristina took great care of Gatsby, she played with him during each visit. Every single detail mentioned in meet & greet was accounted for during the visits. I loved everything from photo & video updates about each visit, to how efficiently whole team is organized. I am happy we found them and we will be coming back here!

I've hired Cat Sitting by Susan twice to watch my two elderly cats, one of which is a diabetic and requires injections twice a day. Both of the sitters who watched my cats were top-notch. They sent me photos and videos of the cats in real time daily and were very responsive to my texts and questions during the actual site visits. When hiring "Cat Sitting by Susan" all of my email inquiries are quickly responded to. This company provides excellent service and cares for my cats like they were their own. Susan and Dan took such great care of my diabetic kitty!  They have years of experience with cat diabetes and gave me some great tips for my newly-diagnosed cat.  They were able to accommodate my last minute request for a sitter and sent me detailed updates for every visit.  Their rates are more than reasonable considering their level of expertise.  I highly recommend this business!!!

This is a wonderful pet-sitting service! We worked with Susan in February 2020 to arrange for cat care for our blind tortie Mishmish over President's Day weekend. I can't say enough positive things about Cat Sitting by Susan. Our sitter was fantastic!! We were in a pinch before leaving the country and they were so accommodating, met with us that day and signed on to care for MoMo while we were away for 11 days. Unprompted, the sitter even vacuumed around the litter box, and even had to deal with some "vomit
